THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS:
The topical treatment of:
- slight injuries (abrasions, scratches, bites),
- skin burns,
- cutaneous ulceration.
POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:
The medicinal product MAXIBIOTIC is for the topical administration on the skin. The injury site should be cleaned and covered with the slight amount of the drug. MAXIBIOTIC should be applied to the sore skin 2 to 5 times a day. The application site could be covered either with bandages or left uncovered. Do not use longer than 7 days.
After the termination of treatment, do not use the drug before 3 months.
Children: MAXIBIOTIC is recommended for children older then 12 years old, because of the risk of ototoxicity and nefrotoxicity
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not use the drug:
- in hypersensitivity of active substances - neomycin sulphate, Polymyxin B sulphate, bacitracin zinc or to any of the excipients of the medicinal product,
- in case of hearing disturbances,
- on eyes,
- on deep or stab wounds, severe burns, large areas of injured skin and oozing lesions, because of the risk of absorption of active substances into systemic circulation and causing systemic adverse reactions (ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity)
- in children under 12 years old.
QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION:
Active substances: neomycin sulphate (Neomycini sulfas) 5mg/g, Polymyxin B sulphate (Polymyxini B sulfas) 5000 j.m./g, Bacitracin zinc (Bacitracinum zincum) 400 j.m/g.
The excipient: white vaseline.
